You will be the reminder of the persistence of the soul and conscience of our time by the mere act of being engaged, being willing to ask questions, being open to breaking with the sway of the world, in finding out truth for yourself.
It’s hard to believe this day is actually here! The past 7 years at UNL and my recent externship year at St. Louis Children’s hospital have taught me so much, but the past 4 years have helped me to grow in ways I never thought possible. It’s been one heck of a ride, and I couldn’t of done it without the unwavering support of my family, friends, and various coffee shops around Lincoln :). I am beyond excited and blessed to start my career as a pediatric audiologist at St. Louis Children’s hospital in July. It brings me the most joy to know that I’ll be working everyday with individuals who love what they do and provide the best care to children and their families. Thrilled to finally be Dr. Courtney Tompkins, Au.D.
One more week!! #gobiggrad
Earning a degree from Nebraska gives me pride to continue the tradition of other family members and represent our great state in the workforce. I'm excited to step into the real-world and make my own contributions to the incredible success stories of other Nebraska alumni.
Can’t say I was planning to walk today for my Master’s Degree. But ... this virtual ceremony (@彩神8官方版 9am on NET) gave me an excuse to wear real clothes. @彩神8官方版UNLincoln It took a while, and it’s a story. But now I’ve finally earned that degree and can move on to the next #educational goal.
Getting excited... thank you @彩神8官方版UNLincoln for this special delivery to your upcoming graduates! #GoBigGrad
Graduating from Nebraska means I have the tools, the skills, and the connections that I need to start my career in technology, and memories I'll cherish for the rest of my life. Attending Nebraska helped me develop a passion for technology and the community and the way those two areas intersect. The faculty, staff, and students provided me a support and foundation I couldn't have gotten anywhere else, and I know I'll be proud to be a Husker anywhere I go.
Well, I think I deserve little self obsession. I am officially a Masters in Science celebrations. It was quite a journey but eventually all worth it . I am so grateful to my family, friends, colleagues who made it happen and guided through my journey. It was awesome. I am quite excited about what lies ahead.
It is your humility, grace, curiosity and resilience that will carry us forward. Your openness to change, your willingness to seek the rich dimensions in other people and your refusal to ever stop growing will ensure that you are an active participant in the future instead of simply a spectator.
My internship at Augusta National Golf Club for the 2019 Masters and study abroad experience to Oman and the U.A.E. helped shape goals and experience I have in the hospitality industry.
I want to say thank you to all of the impactful professors I had both in the Animal Science department, but also in the Agricultural Economics department. There are so many that I had genuine connections with and that truly valued me as both a student and a person. Knowing that I could approach so many of them with any questions, concerns, or comments I had was incredibly reassuring. I came into college wondering if I would make any of those deep connections with staff and faculty at UNL, and thankfully, that's exactly what I did. I am so grateful for the incredible teaching staff I had the opportunity to grow and learn from. Thank you, UNL Animal Science, for providing me with a lifetime of memories, friendships, and knowledge.
Buy a Number 2 Ticonderoga pencil and use it to sketch something you see. Write a letter to someone you haven’t seen for a long time. Surprise someone with the nourishing and priceless gift of unexpected kindness. Don’t be so certain you know the answer; store a little doubt in a safe place to keep you honest and healthy.
When I moved from South Dakota to attend UNL as an 18-year-old, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Seven years later, I am equipped with two degrees that make nearly anything possible. I could list many examples of transformative moments at UNL, but the word I'd use to define all of them is "support." I had support from my professors when I decided to switch to a political science major and attend law 彩神网app halfway through my junior year. I had support from my peers when I ran for student government and realized that I am passionate about public policy. I had support from the College彩神网app of Law administration when we organized a volunteer event on Election Day in 2018. I firmly believe that UNL is full of good administrators and faculty who truly want their students to succeed.
You’re going down in history as the class that graduated in a pandemic. Now go out and make your own history. Congrats grads! We’re proud of you!
